ISP Throttling Bypass: How Comcast & BT Block Your IPTV (And How to Stop It)

Is your IPTV perfectly fine during the day but buffers every night at 8 PM? Your ISP is likely throttling you. Here is exactly how to stop them.

What is ISP Throttling?

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the USA (Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum) and the UK (BT, Sky, Virgin) actively monitor your incoming traffic. When they detect heavy video streaming unassociated with massive corporate partners like Netflix or YouTube, they deliberately slow down (throttle) those specific packets to save bandwidth.

They also routinely block specific IP addresses of known IPTV servers during high-demand sporting events.

How to Tell If You Are Being Throttled

* Symptom 1: Your IPTV buffers exclusively between 7 PM and 11 PM, or during major Premier League games.

* Symptom 2: Your Speedtest.net results show 500Mbps, but your IPTV still buffers. (Speedtests are not throttled, making you think your internet is fine).

The Only Real Fix: VPN Encryption

To stop your ISP from throttling or blocking your stream, they need to be blinded.

By using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), your internet traffic is wrapped in AES-256 encryption. Your ISP can only see that you are downloading something from a secure server, but they cannot see what it is, and therefore, their automated systems trigger no throttling.

  • 1. Install a premium VPN on your streaming device (Surfshark, NordVPN, or ExpressVPN).
  • 2. Connect to a server physically close to you (e.g., if you are in London, connect to a London VPN server).
  • 3. Open your IPTV application.

  • The Problem With VPNs and Free IPTV

Many generic IPTV providers actually ban VPN usage because they share servers.

At ZeroBuffering, all of our Premium USA Subscriptions and our UK servers have built-in anti-DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) technology to bypass ISP blocks naturally, but we also fully support all major VPNs.

Stop fighting your ISP and start watching.
